This 2-days Colca Canyon excursion is perfect for those who wish to experience as much of the Colca Canyon as possible. The Colca Canyon is the second deepest canyon in the world, and is the best place to see the Andean condor up close in its natural habitat. During this excursion, you will enjoy a traditional dinner and show, as well as take pictures with alpacas and llamas.

Day 1

Departure from Arequipa to the Colca.

Colca Valley: Departure from Arequipa at 8:00 a.m. heading for the road via Yura and then pass the Chachani volcano and then pass through the SALINAS NATIONAL RESERVE AND AGUADA BLANCA and stop for 10 minutes where passengers can appreciate the vicuñas that are in their natural environment then we will have a second stop to enjoy coca tea and not be affected by the height as we will be at 3800 meters above sea level. We will continue climbing up to 4800 meters above sea level.(viewpoint of the volcanoes). After the spectacular view we will begin the descent to the town of Chivay where we will arrive after approximately 45 minutes. Approximately at 3:00 p.m. to take you to visit the thermal baths of La Calera, a place where you can enjoy the thermal pools. After the agreed time we return to the hotel. In the evening you will enjoy a folkloric show and a typical dinner. After the show we will drop you off at your respective hotel and that is the end of our itinerary for the day. Day 2

DAY 02: Visit to the Colca / Return to Arequipa.

After breakfast at 5:30 a.m., we will start our trip to the COLCA CANYON, where the MIRADOR DE LA CRUZ DEL CONDOR is located, a place to observe the spectacular FLIGHT OF THE CONDOR. On the way back we will visit the viewpoints of Antahuilque and choquetico from where we will be able to observe the pre-Inca tombs and models and the beautiful landscape of the Colca Valley with its impressive terraces. At midday we will arrive in Chivay and after lunch we will return to the city of Arequipa, arriving in the city at 5:00 pm. aprox.

Along the way, altitudes above 4000 meters will be reached, so some people may suffer from altitude sickness (“Soroqchi”). Spend at least 1 day in Arequipa before participating in the tour to acclimatize to the altitude, although it is not necessary if you are coming from Cusco or Puno.
