Introduction

The Colca Valley is an area of astonishing scenic beauty, with gigantic Andean terraces and a deep canyon that reaches a depth of 3140 meters. The Colca Canyon tour will take you through high Andean plateaus, reaching at one point a high pass of 4800 meters, which offers beautiful views of the volcanoes of Arequipa.

Along the way you can see herds of vicuñas (a wild relative of llamas and alpacas) and various types of birds, including the giant hummingbird, eagles, geese and the mighty Andean condor.

If you like adventure excursions, the Cola Canyon tour also offers wonderful hikes to your button, descending through huge mountains, exploring oasis-like valleys, hot springs and camping in the open air.

Day 1

COLCA TOUR | FULL DAY FROM AREQUIPA - PERU

Colca Tour, our service starts at 02:30 a.m. with the pick up from your hotel, to start the trip to the Colca Canyon by the road via Yura. The trip will be made directly to the Cruz del Condor (approximately 5 hours), stopping only for breakfast at 06:30 AM. After breakfast, we will arrive at one of the deepest canyons in the world, the COLCA CANYON, where we will find theMIRADOR DE LA CRUZ DEL CONDOR, a place to observe the spectacular FLIGHT OF THE CONDOR. Then we will stop in the villages of Pinchollo, Maca and Yanque that have beautiful colonial churches; as well as in the viewpoints of Antahuilqueand choquetico from where we will be able to observe the pre-Inca tombs and models and the beautiful landscape of the Colca Valley with its impressive terraces. Approximately at 12:00 p.m. we will arrive at Chivayy and head to La Calera Hot Springs (Optional), whose medicinal waters range between 35°C and 38°C. After a refreshing swim, at approximately 01:00 p.m. free time for lunch. On the way back we will stop at EL MIRADOR DE LOS VOLCANES (highest point 4,910 m.a.s.l.), the wetlands of Toccra (where you can see a diversity of wild birds), Pampa Cañahuas where the Aguada Blanca National Reserve is located, home of the vicuñas. At approximately 06:00 p.m., we will arrive in the city of Arequipa.

Flight to Arequipa: flight to Arequipa always depart from Lima, you can check if from your location you can take a flight to Arequipa,
